Ruth Kydd along with her husband, Neville have dairy farmed in the irrigation area at Finley in southern NSW for 38 years. Having their two sons, Daniel and Steven along with their families involved in the business has allowed for the continued growth from 167 cows to 1800.  Attention to detail especially with pasture management, animal health and fertility has allowed the growth in the business.  They operate a pasture based, low input system with a 3-way crossed herd in an irrigation area that is not very reliable for its water supply.  A 3rd dairy is currently being constructed which will allow for easier management and further growth in the business.

Ruth has been involved in many RD&E and advocacy committees over many years and feels she has gained much from her involvement.
